There is a historical practice of having principals project their curriculum expenses, yet in most Districts, no such process exist with School Activity funds.  Oftentimes the dollars flowing through the commercial bank accounts either match or exceed the state “budget” allocations.  Why then, are we not requesting School Activity fund projections?

Once we begin to have teachers and principals project their financial “goals”, we will create an environment of follow-through, ultimately allowing for a routine comparison of original forecasts to actual dollars achieved.  Imagine the added clarity each club, activity, team and school will have once they have a target!  Transparency and accountability will be achieved when all stakeholders are presented with clearly-defined goals along with an action plan to obtain those financial ‘results’.
